Donations to Advance Ashburton Community Foundation are warmly welcomed.
We are a registered charity which means you can rest-assured that your donation will be used for the intended purpose... bettering the Ashburton community.

Making a Donation

At Advance Ashburton we provide a way for you to give to the causes that you care about in a way that suits you.
W
hether you're choosing to make a small or large donation, make it regular or a one off, whether you choose to donate now or later - with a donation in your Will.  Through the simple and effective way Advance Ashburton works, every donation makes a difference and will continue to do so for many generations to come.

Here at Advance Ashburton we are very aware that we all have different interests and causes that we would like to support.  In the unique way that our Community Foundation is set up, donors have many choices over when and how their donation will be used to support our community.

You can choose to donate into one of our already established funds:
  • General Fund (for general charitable purposes)
  • Health & Hospital Fund
  • Arts Fund
  • Heritage Fund
  • Ashburton District Volunteer Rural Fire Fighters Welfare Fund
  • Ashburton Palliative Care Fund
  • Rakaia Community Fund
  • Winchmore District Fund
  • Wastebusters Fund
  • Ashburton Technical Past Pupils Scholarship Fund
  • The Child and Youth Fund
Or, you can choose to establish your very own named fund and specify what purpose you wish to support.

Gary Fail, Retired Solicitor

When I was a practising solicitor, I prepared wills for clients and advised them regarding gifts. Many wealthy and not so wealthy residents of the Ashburton area who had benefited from living and working locally wished to give or leave money to local charitable causes. Uncertain that gifts or bequests to national charities would particularly benefit the Ashburton District, they found Advance Ashburton Community Foundation a perfect alternative.

Others found the prospect of setting up their own permanent charitable trust a rather daunting prospect, and the solution again was provided by Advance Ashburton. Using Advance Ashburton as a locally focused trustee, donors could establish their own personal funds (named if they wish) for the particular local purposes they wished to benefit.

This was, and still is, a wonderful local facility: I see its role growing exponentially in the future.
